This 2020 art piece was ultimate bliss to paint. My initial vision to paint this 12″ X 9″ canvas came from portals, stars, and my skin. As a young woman embracing the body I am born with, my awareness has shaped my outlook in life. On this canvas, I wanted to illuminate that creativity is within me. Therefore, I used my own bone structure to accentuate the female body as the center piece of this canvas. After that, I used my skin tone as reference to portray myself coming through a portal. In addition, I painted another portal within the chest to expose a mandala pattern representing the emotion I feel when I create. Lastly, this canvas would not be complete without juicy lips, bright colors, and a touch of stars! Above all, I love to paint.
