This 2016 art piece was the beginning of painting landscapes. My vision to paint this image came from visiting family in my hometown Seattle, Washington. My love for Washington’s nature fueled me; therefore, I decided to paint that spark on this 8″ x 10″ canvas. I wanted to portray how lovely Washington’s nature makes me feel. In other words, I wanted to incorporate beautiful lush trees, a serene river, and sculpted mountains. In addition, I painted a sun peeking through the mountains. Nature has always inspired me to create whether it be in the wild or created at home. If anything, I creatively flourish with nature.
