This 2020 art piece was soothing and relaxing to paint. My inspiration to paint this canvas came from the month January, crystals, and stars. People recognize January for winter, approaching new beginnings, and reminiscing achievements. I wanted to portray how January makes me feel by painting on this 12″ X 12″ canvas. In other words, I wanted to incorporated one big blue crystal in the center of the canvas to represent my interests in crystals. In addition, I painted a blue goo portal surrounding the crystal by being engulfed in a star portal filled with a blue galaxy. Crystals have always fascinated me whether it be about actual energy work or products to sell in gift shops. As my eyes are opening more and more, so are my portal paintings.
